Every one of those images must be imported, backed up, organized, reviewed, culled, edited, and carefully placed into a story that flows naturally from beginning to end.
This isn’t a filter applied in bulk.
It’s image-by-image work that ensures skin tones look natural, colors feel consistent, lighting is true to the moment, and no image distracts from the overall story.
That level of consistency takes time. A lot of time. 😅

Editing isn’t about fixing photos. It’s about interpretation.

At Forest Film, we don’t use AI to edit our galleries. Not because we’re opposed to it (necessarily), and not because we believe other photographers shouldn’t. In fact, we truly wish it worked for us. But our process is too intentional.
Every image is selected deliberately. Every edit is done by hand, with attention to how it fits into the larger story. We don’t outsource editing to other humans either. Not because others aren’t capable, but because the way we see and shape a gallery is so specific that we’ve learned we’re the only ones who can meet our own standards.
That specificity is what makes a Forest Film gallery feel like a Forest Film gallery.
This is also why we don’t drastically change our editing style from client to client. When you hire us, you’re hiring the way we see and tell a story. If we delivered something completely different, it wouldn’t feel cohesive, and it wouldn’t truly represent your day the way it deserves.
Why time is part of the quality
When a gallery takes time, it’s not because it’s sitting untouched.
It’s because it’s moving through a careful process. One that requires focus, consistency, and creative continuity. Rushing that process risks flattening the story and dulling the emotion.
